Farewell to the Baruch College Community

To the Students, Faculty, and Staff of Baruch College,

My ten years as president of Baruch College have now come to an end, and I have stepped down to begin a research leave over the summer, before returning in the fall as a CUNY University Professor. I will teach at the graduate level in the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs in my specialty areas of international security and international affairs. Dr. James McCarthy, Baruch's interim provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, has graciously agreed to lead the College during the month of June; and on July 1, Baruch's eighth president, Dr. S. David Wu, will begin his term.

I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished together during the past ten years, and I hope, in this regard, that you have had an opportunity to read my recent State of the College report<http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/StateoftheCollege>. Despite the current challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and impending state budget reductions, I am confident that Baruch is going to have a bright future under President Wu's leadership. As I bid you farewell as president, I want to thank the entire Baruch community for your hard work, your perseverance, your collegiality, and your support. Please stay safe and well.
