Support Services for Students, Faculty, and Staff

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

The most contentious presidential election in U.S. history is now behind us and many may be feeling intense emotions and, in some cases, deep concern.

If you have such concerns or specific questions, and would like free, confidential support, there are several resources available on campus or through CUNY. I want, in particular, to urge those who may have concerns about their immigration status to make use of the free services available to you.


*        The Baruch College Counseling Center<https://www.baruch.cuny.edu/studentaffairs/counselingCenter.htm> offers students individual and group counseling.

*        The Employee Assistance Program<https://www.deeroakseap.com/>, administered through Deer Oaks, is available to faculty and staff.

*        CUNY Citizenship Now<http://www1.cuny.edu/sites/citizenship-now/> is a strong resource for questions surrounding immigration status or services.

I would also like to emphasize that it is a point of pride for Baruch College that our dynamic, intellectually engaged community welcomes and respects all points of view. Whether in the classroom or talking among friends or colleagues outside of class, no one point of view is more valuable or more correct than any other. There is room for every opinion and time for open, respectful discussions and debates.

I hope we all will bear this in mind during this emotionally fraught period. Let's keep the Baruch College campus a safe and nurturing place for everyone who works and studies here.
