Open Forum to Support the Search Process for the Next President of Baruch College

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

The search for the next president of Baruch College is about to begin, and The City University of New York (CUNY) has retained Witt/Kieffer, a global executive search firm, to assist the College and the search committee in this important process.

Gathering information is among the first priorities.

In order to become deeply informed about Baruch's culture, strengths, priorities, and opportunities and to establish the criteria for presidential candidates, some members of the search committee-including its chair, a representative from the CUNY Board of Trustees-and the search consultants will be on campus to meet with representatives from across the College.

Preparing for the Forum
To make the Open Forum as successful as possible, the consultants have shared some of the specific questions they intend to ask. Please consider your answers to the following. The search consultants will greatly benefit from your insights and perspectives.

*         What do you believe are Baruch College's core values and defining characteristics?

*         What are the College's greatest strengths that candidates should know about?

*         What aspirations for Baruch's future are most important to you for the next president to be able to achieve?

*         What would you like the next president to accomplish in the first 18 to 24 months?

*         What are the major challenges facing the College?

*         What qualities, characteristics, and kinds of experience should the next president have?

*         How will you measure the president's success?

Your participation and support are greatly appreciated. This is an exciting moment in the history of our institution as we set out to identify the eighth president of Baruch College.
