The Passing of Linzy Chapman, Campus Peace Officer



Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:



It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Linzy Chapman, a hardworking member of our Campus Peace Officer (CPO) team. CPO Chapman was stricken while on duty in the Newman Vertical Campus (NVC) last Friday.



A respected member of the Baruch staff, Linzy was in the process of planning his retirement, having worked at the College since August 2010. He was reliable, friendly and unfailingly helpful. He loved his job and cared about the needs of everyone who works and studies on our campus. We are all greatly saddened by the news of his sudden and unexpected passing.


The wake and mass Linzy Chapman will be held this Saturday, Feb. 23, at J. Foster Phillips Funeral Home located at 179-24 Linden Boulevard, Jamaica, Queens. The wake will take place from 9 am to 10 am, with the mass beginning at 11 am. CPO Chapman will be laid to rest at Pine Lawn Cemetery.



It is always difficult when we lose any member of the Baruch College community, and we send our deepest condolences to Linzy Chapman's family.
