IT Update: Streamlining Sign-On for CUNY-wide Applications and Services



Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,



CUNY's Office of Computing and Information Services has been working with key individuals throughout the University system to improve how students, faculty, and staff access University-wide applications and services. Their goal has been to implement a single username and password-called the CUNY Login-to access such applications and services as Blackboard, DegreeWorks, FACTS (Financial Aid Certification Tracking System), and CUNYfirst. Once fully realized, this upgrade will mean fewer usernames and passwords to remember. Additionally, users will need to log in only once to access more than one application. Toward this goal, CUNY has developed a schedule for the first set of applications to transition to the new CUNY Login.



What to Expect & When to Expect It



The New Log-in Method

Users will log in with their CUNYfirst username followed by @login.cuny.edu and their CUNYfirst password.



For example, if you log into CUNYfirst as george.washington76, you will log into Blackboard as [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Additional details about the upcoming Blackboard login transition can be found on the CUNY website<http://www2.cuny.edu/about/administration/offices/cis/core-functions/cuny-blackboard/>.



The Schedule at Baruch

*         Beginning on Monday, July 3, the login method will change for Blackboard.



*         On Monday, July 10, DegreeWorks and FACTS will transition to the new login method.



*         Other applications, such as CUNYfirst, are scheduled to transition to the new login credentials after the start of the Fall 2017 semester.
